About Jessie Blume Handmade from the owner/maker:

“My name is Jessica Lawson of Jessie Blume Handmade and I am originally from Southern California. My mom taught me to sew at a very young age and I loved doing it as a hobby.

After marrying and having two children, my husband decided to go back to college full time. I started my little sewing business to help make ends meet and had baby number three along the way. My husband's master's degree program brought us to beautiful Michigan State University about eight years ago. We fell in love with the family-friendly atmosphere and seeing all four seasons each year. We now have four children and live in pretty Okemos Michigan. I sew my bags in my home office sewing space on a vintage Japanese Machine. I use quality canvas prints and genuine cowhide leathers.

I enjoy connecting with women through my purses and love highlighting Michigan-themed prints for my bags. I am thrilled to showcase my work in Two Fish gallery alongside so much talent.”
