A wise woman once said “when times are tough, surround yourself with art and beauty.” We feel so fortunate to have discovered Emily Frushour of 37 Prime by way of our artist call in January. We knew we loved her, and her work then, but we had no idea how much comfort it would bring us during these challenging times. We are so proud to be welcoming Emily and her beautiful watercolor work to the Two Fish Family. Thank you for making the world a brighter place, Emily.

About Emily in her own words:

“My name is Emily Frushour and I have loved art my whole life. It started at the kitchen table with Care Bear coloring books when I was in preschool, and now I am making and selling art of my own just 35 years later! Along the way, I studied graphic design at the University of Michigan School of Art & Design, got married and had two daughters, worked as a graphic designer, started my own small greeting card business, and taught children’s art classes out of my home. I love 20th century art, summers on Lake Michigan, good parmesan cheese, plain m&ms, and organizing everything I own by color.

I explored many artistic mediums before finding my home in watercolor at the age of 37. Since then, I’ve seen how “home” can look like many different things for different people, and I am passionate about creating watercolors with this in mind. I have been fortunate enough to honor beloved states, countries, lakes, landmarks, pets and homes with vibrant and delicate watercolor pieces. I value handmade items and pride myself on creating high-quality works of art. My watercolors are all painted using a tiny paintbrush, then converted to digital files and printed in my home studio on a fine art printer with archival watercolor paper and HD inks. Thank you for your interest in my work.”
